 About me

I am Kevin C. Harris, candidate for Miami Gardens City Council Seat 5. I am a diligent and reliable working class candidate seeking to represent the community with accessible and relentless leadership. I am an unapologetic, lifelong Democrat that will never lose my blue-collar perspective. I will use it to sponsor measures to benefit everyone, not just a privileged few.

I was born to Karen and Prince “Pop” Harris I on October 5th, 1985 in North Miami, FL. I am a graduate of North Miami Beach Senior High School (with honors), and I immediately followed that with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida International University in Miami. I went to work for UPS for over 6 years, before serving my community with the Miami-Dade Police Department for the last 12 years. My family has resided within the city of Miami Gardens boundaries for more than 58 years. My guiding principles are selflessness and service.

In 2023, I was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Miami Beach Democratic Club, where I also work as Chair of the Legislative Committee.

This campaign is dedicated to the memory of the following: my father (Prince B. Harris I aka Pop), my maternal grandmother who raised me while my parents worked (Amanda B. Craig), my sister (Dr. Bernadette Nicole “Nikki” Harris-Haynes), and the one & only Ms. Demitra Roche.
